Ca ca. 1993 Vanguard Finns were Dominie office. Devoti Finn's and Lemieux were the successors.
Vanguard Finns were in various stages of development (MK1-MKV)
The first versions had a double bottom but still normal floorboards. Vanguard, however, brought out an upgrade kit to retrofit to older Vanguards.
MK1 built up about. 1979 was, according to Vanguard “a little wrong” respect of the trunk lines.

“Vanguard Finns were produced by the Harken brothers, initially with wooden floors and then with double bottoms. Several designs were produced, all more successful than the previous but the boundaries were blurred by conversion kits to update earlier boats. Many Vanguard Finns were imported to the UK since they were the dominant builder for many years. Vanguards also seem to have also started the trend for Finns to be re-registered in several different countries as they changed hands.”

The Mk 1 Vanguards had the end of the centreplate controls and the end of the plate go through a hole in the front of the cockpit. They also didn’t have a bow tank although some of these were removed from later Vanguards by owneThe Mke Mk 1 did not have a double bottom in the rear of the cockpit but quite a few were converted later in life (I believe Vanguard sold an insert for a while. I would expect from the age that yours is a Mk 2 or 3. MAybe someone else has a better way of telling.

Interesting is the story of the origination Vanguard Finn.

First of Harken Brothers bought the quick-Raudaschl Finn (N 83), to study the lines of. They finally developed a Finn, in his brother's ideas Jörg lines of a full bow, and the lines of Raudaschl's, des Elvström's, Teel of the Newport-Finn's and have been incorporated. Jörg's brother had then visited her little chance Klitsche, to bring its poles to the man.
They believed, that of "hottest of hot Finns" have. Unfortunately it was unsuccessful.

There was one 2. Attempt, the financial situation of the company through a "winning Finn" to improve.
You sit in front of a blank sheet of paper and put the lines on the principle, that a water molecule as soon as possible in the shortest, i.e.. straight path, From bow to stern would go, and a hull designed with a straight trunk allows Linen.
Here, a Finn came with a slender bow, slender nave area, a very shallow keel line and a very wide aft section for sliding and to increase the stability out.
In the North American Championship, the courts 1 (John Bertrand) and 2 reached and the orders poured in..
Between 1978 and 1986 gewannen that Vanguard Hulls eight mold the Finn Gold Cup.

P.S. The Finn was from Vanguard 1993 by newer designs from other manufacturers (Devoti, Lemieux, Leg) replaced, which is in a tough hull below the waterline (z.T. Sandwich) and softer, Rumpftorsion favoring the structures of the deck area characterized.
